<CENTER>PRESS STATEMENT Musharraf’s policy of ‘waving the red rag at a bull’ continues</CENTER>

A The Musharraf government works to create a favourable atmosphere for America before the arrival of Condoleeza Rice by continuing its policy of “waving the red rag at a bull”. The recent statement of Sheikh Rashid claiming that Abdul Qadeer Khan provided nuclear parts to Iran is only a part of this policy. The Musharraf government first “confesses” the crimes which she hasn’t even committed so as to provide America a pretext to apply pressure, which then in turn is used by Musharraf to 
convince sincere elements in the bureaucracy, armed forces and people who influence the public opinion, that he is completely helpless and powerless. Hence, covering up his treachery and connivance with the Americans. To provide America a pretext to pressurise Pakistan, it was Musharraf himself who declared that Osama and Al-Qaida elements could be hiding in the Pak-Afghan border area, based upon which Musharraf then initiated military operations in the tribal belt. It was none other than 
Musharraf himself who claimed that Pakistan did not have a “strategic check and control” over the nuclear programme in order to portray Pakistan as an irresponsible state. It was Musharraf himself who announced on CNN in front of the whole world that the scientists might have proliferated for their own benefit long before the completion of the investigation. And yet again, on the directives of the government, Sheikh Rashid gave a statement, which would create a favourable atmosphere for the 
Americans in order to facilitate Condoleeza Rice to achieve her objectives. One of the foremost objectives is to terminate or freeze Pakistan’s nuclear programme so that the Ummah could never be able to stand up against American aggression. It is for this reason that we have started to see media reports that Pakistan will provide parts of the centrifuge system to the IAEA. After which it would entirely be up to this nuclear watch-dog to link Pakistan with the nuclear programme of any country it 
likes. The nuclear capability, which the Ummah achieved after a struggle of fifty years, is now in danger due to these treacherous rulers. Today these rulers pose a bigger threat than the US herself. The time has come that the Ummah rids herself from these agent rulers and establishes Khilafah, which would not only unify the resources of the Ummah but also protect them. Naveed Butt
