AMARC AFRICA PRESS RELEASE
STATIONS COME TOGETHER FOR WOMEN'S DAY BROADCAST
February 26, 2004
Monday, March 8 is a United Nation=92s day for Women. To celebrate this 
day, AMARC Africa=92s Women and Gender Programme will host a two 
hour internet broadcast. 
The theme for the broadcast is =93Women and AIDS=94 and it will cover 
topics ranging from mother to child transmission, the impact of AIDS of 
teen sexuality, income generation projects for HIV positive people and 
civil society initiatives against AIDS.
The broadcast will be in English and French and will feature stories 
from across the continent. Transmission will begin at 0800hrs and 
10hrs00 GMT on Monday March 8.
The broadcast will be carried live at http://www.amarc.org:8000/wsf . 
The programme will be hosted by representatives from Benin, Ivory 
Coast, Zambia and South Africa.
Stations are encouraged to dedicate programming on the day to women 
and gender issues.
AMARC members who wish to contribute programmes for the broadcast 
should contact the head office.
