Dear all,
Sorry for being late.
Goal 2- Challenge and opportunities for RICs and Possibilities of utilising the existing Private or public infrastractures.
In my country- Tanzania, from experience from our organization, I think Policy and procedures are very favourable to rural women. But in practice we need more volunteers and accessablity also is not very clear.
-There are time we can be warmly received by the media, with a surprise a negative respond next time. Programmes are there, but all depend with editors opinion or even whoever you happen to come across.
We all agree that, Radio is more convient and easy to use for rural information and women empoerment. But the same challenge of getting volunteers. We should find strategies which can attract youth to participate in sesitisation and follow-up of programs.
otherwise, if there is no listners groups who can be assisstaed in responding, then producers of the programmes will not understand the impact of their effort.
My suggetion is, let us know if there is an organization which offers these kind of training or through these e-consultation , if we can be equiped with enough information, we can call for volunteers among youth and every organization under its capacity can set up training programs of which can easely be adopted and accepted.
I believe many youth are longing to do something. especially educated rural youth
Regards, Maryam.
