This List was initiated at a meeting on the 12th of February 2008, convened by AWID, in preparation for the AWID Forum 2008 (Cape Town). At this meeting, participants from various organisations identified the need to reflect on the South African women's movement ahead of the forum and beyond. At a meeting at the AWID Forum on the 16th of November, South African feminists agreed to revive this online space to help co-ordinate our efforts for change. The email list is open to all in the South African women's movement who wish to engage, reflect and identify challenges ahead. We will use feminist principles of respect, honesty and openness in this engagement. Women'sNet has set up the list, and manages the technology associated with it. The list is un-moderated.
